BRAND: Let’s Create
The Ask: The campaign originates with a simple directive – to create a social media film campaign that focuses on Mental illness/depression in the Black community.
The Insight: Life's full of ups and downs, but only a few people can manoeuvre through those difficult times. Those times could diminish the will to live and the desire to numb the pain and dejection is the leading cause of suicide. This subject is rarely discussed in the Black community because of little or no awareness. So, there’s the belief that you need not take your issues to a friend, stranger, or psychiatrist.
The Solution: Since Let’s create strives to create works around representation and I approached the film from a common point of view that will be highly relatable and create awareness for the intended target audiences. So I decided the name of the campaign should be “Let’s Talk About It Now”.
OOH: The images taken during the production of the film will be used for Out-of-home advertising such as billboards. These specific images tell a story of how mental health affects the black community.
Social Media: The film campaign will make use of social media such as Instagram, Facebook Twitter and Youtube to promote the film. Trailer and fascinating images will be released on these social sites 2 weeks before the intended release date of the film campaign which is May 5th, since May is Mental health month.
Hashtag: #LETSTALKABOUTITNOW will be the official hashtag for the mental health campaign.
